Arrived yesterday afternoon. Just chillin.

That's enough work for this year!

I am done working for the year! Man it feels good to say that. A full two weeks off. I am going to be busy though with celebrating Christmas, a trip to Captiva Florida to visit my family, and trying to get some exercise in.

I hope to keep posting but will probably have much better things to do!

Sunday Morning Ski

I got out on the skis for two hours at the North Loop yesterday, the last 1 ½ hours with Ben. I really worked hard trying to keep up to him for the first two laps but got tired fast and backed of for the last two.

No 16 minute lap time like when I am by myself, 4 lap average of 13:34 with a 12:46 fast lap (the first one).

Ben, I know all those lap time numbers drive you nuts but I dig ‘em.

The Amo’s were MIA????

Oooo Bobby V

Madelyn sang with Bobby V in three shows and a practice this weekend. It was alot of running around but really fun for the kids. We went to the 2:00 show today, including the 24 kids that sang and their parents in the audience, I think we brought the average age down to 59. Alot of white hair but they love the V man!

Free Pizza and Beer... sort of.

Ben's comment to my hero post reminded me of when I lived over in the Univeristy Village townhomes on the south east side of town. Regan, Joel and myself lived with a guy named Dave. He was some kind of marketing advertising mastermind. He managed to do some work for Gary's pizza and in return he got free pizzas!

Well the four of us, and often more, could eat alot of pizza and it wasn't long before Gary's started to send each of us a bill every month based on who ordered. It was still a great deal every day of the month except the day that the bills for the previous month came with the Zaa's. There were alot of months our pizza bill was more than rent!

I think Dave still got his Pizza for free but they still made alot of money off of us!

Hero?

If someone calls you a hero and you don't know who they are does it still count? Even if they are a self proclamed lunatic?

I really can't take credit for his claims of heroism I am just passing along blogging etiquette that tenacious-t passed to me.

Night Ski

I went to the North Loop to ski right after work. Man it gets dark fast. I got in about two laps before it got dark, then did two more. After I was done I checked my split times and laps 3 and 4 were faster than 1 and 2. I may try to ski more after dark. All 4 laps were consistant though 16:17 to 16:32 but not an easy work out as my average heart rate was 152. Hopefully I can get both to come down as I get more efficient on skis.

I am starting to feel comfortable on the skis, most of the time. I can feel the instability when I don't bring my feet together and I try to hockey skate. The up hills are still tough but I think I have the down hills mastered. 8 laps in the last week at the North Loop and no wipeouts on the big downhill left-hander.

Kids say the darndest things.

Kids are great, especially when they are young. Although they have a knack for being brutally honest. My girls are 5 and 7. I know I have been slacking off on my training now for a while and I got an eye opener tonight. Madelyn (7) told me I "need to spin more" while patting my stomach and Grace (5) said I could be santa.
